In response to the enthusiastic invitation from the School of Nuclear Science and Technology (SNST), DENG Li,director of Federation Technical Committee on Monte Carlo(MC), made a report of the MC method and the development status of the related software for the students of SNST. YE Minyou, associate dean of SNST,made the opening speech.

DENG Li is one of the most famous experts in the field of MC and he is long engaged in the research of the method of MC. He introduced the MC problems in particle transport and the development of software in the world by the reviewing of the MC method, particle transport calculation, development and challenges in the application of the MC method and the domestic situation and a summary. He emphasized that the MC method is commonly used numerical method for solving a large number of applications in the field of science, engineering and technology, especially in the field of nuclear energy. Then, he introduced their Self-developed software to us, JMCT,Neutron - Photon transport Code. JMCT had an obvious advantage in comparing with the MCNP.

The atmosphere was very lively. The students put forward their questions about their own research to DENG Li at the end of the report. He made detailed answers one by one. After the report, Academician WAN Yuanxi invited him to visit the SNST.
